Due to a glitch on one of our Master servers during the past hour, many CoD players are getting

will stop kicking for this within an hour as they auto-refresh their cache of PB files. We

"pb_sv_lanmask 192" tells PB that players having an IP address that starts with "192" are
'LAN' status players); otherwise, LAN players connecting to an Internet server will receive
'UNKN' PB GUID status

We have confirmed that the recently released update for the Xfire (www.xfire.com) instant
messaging program has triggered PB Violations #90003 and #90011 when the chat overlay system
is used while playing on a PunkBuster enabled server in OpenGL mode. Today, Xfire released a
v1.31 update to correct the problem on their end. We encourage PB admins to give the benefit of
the doubt to players who received either of these violations since Dec. 30th. As these are
generic cheat hook detection algorithms, we will not be removing them from our system. Players
who use Xfire while playing on PB Servers should update to the new version immediately.

In keeping with our policy to terminate the license to use PunkBuster for GUIDs associated
with hacking or interfering with PunkBuster's operation, we have today begun such banning for
violations incurred while playing CoD. We wish to stress the point to honest players to never
test hacks and cheats that claim to hack or interfere with PunkBuster's ability to function
properly. Players who are no longer able to play on PB servers due to such bans are still able
to play CoD on non-PB servers.

you are a CoD Player or Admin in the email along with as many details as possible. PunkBuster
is installed during setup of the game update patch. We will be providing links to PB for CoD manuals near the
top of this page. Note that we do not know when Activision will be releasing the patch for Call of Duty that
includes PunkBuster integration.
